About this free printable grid paper
Grid paper gives you a repeating pattern of horizontal and vertical lines to help align drawings, plan layouts, make tables, or sketch. This generator focuses on the grid itself: choose independent cell width and height, line color, margins, and page dimensions. It does not add mathematical axes to the grid.
Grid paper options and cell shapes
Choose Plain Grid Paper for a uniform general-purpose grid, or Engineering Grid Paper for fine subdivisions with recurring heavier lines. The square presets create 2 × 2, 5 × 5, or 10 × 10 mm cells. The rectangular 5 × 10 mm preset creates taller cells; edit width or height independently afterward.
Customize your grid
Spacing controls cell width from 2 to 30 mm; Grid cell height separately controls the vertical interval in the same range. Set A4, A5, A3, Letter, Legal, or custom dimensions, choose orientation and margins, and pick a line color. Download PDF for printing or SVG for vector editing.
Grid paper and graph paper
The terms overlap: graph paper is a grid format often used for plotting, while general grid paper is also useful for layout, drawing, and alignment. How to print grid paper
Choose the cell dimensions and page size, download the PDF, then print it using the matching paper size and Actual size or 100% when cell dimensions matter. Printer scaling and margins can affect the physical output. SVG download is also available; PNG export is not.
