How the Cornell notes format works
The Cornell method divides a page into three areas: a wider notes column, a narrower cue column, and a summary space along the bottom. Record details in the notes area, add questions or keywords in the cue column, and write a short recap after reviewing.
Customize and print the template
Change the page size, line spacing, margins, and line color in the editor. The columns and summary area are included in the preview and export. Print at actual size for the selected dimensions.
Use it for active review
After taking notes, cover the notes column and use the cues to recall the details. Then check your response and refine the summary. This makes the template useful for lectures, reading notes, and exam review.
